Professional Bio: Jacob Otolski graduated from the University of Minnesota in Spring 2023 with a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering degree, as well as minors in Mathematics, Computer Science, and Chemistry. As an undergraduate student, he researched under Prof. Benjamin Hackel, studying the optimization of protein selection strategies using directed evolution in conjunction with yeast surface display technologies. With Prof. Millicent Sullivan, he is now focusing on the development of biomaterials for growth enhancement in chronic wounds using gene therapy.
Fun Bio: When not in the lab, Jacob enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, skiing, and camping. Jacob also enjoys bouldering, cooking, and playing videogames.
