Professional Bio: Hanieh obtained her BSc degree in Chemical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Iran in 2014. She then moved to the U.S. to pursue her graduate studies in Chemical Engineering at University of Michigan. As a graduate student, she worked with Prof. Lola Eniola-Adefeso to develop novel biomaterials for the treatment of inflammatory disorders. She received her Ph.D. in 2020, with her thesis focused on the fabrication of non-spherical biodegradable particles for drug delivery applications and studying the impact of shape on the performance of particulate carriers. Hanieh joined the Sullivan lab in June 2020, and she is currently working on using polypeptides for developing synthetic cell-like structures.
